The Punjab Government has released funds worth Rs 500 million for setting up a state-of-the-art hostel for 1000 students at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

The Punjab Government has released funds worth Rs 500 million for setting up a state-of-the-art hostel for 1000 students at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. It will be biggest hostel in the country. The Punjab Government has released fund under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to facilitate the students. The initial work on the project has been kicked off on war-footing and will be completed in the short span of time. It is worth mentioning here that in 1961, the University was set up for the 3000 students. Now the number of present students had touched to 18,000 to provide the quality education for the ever-increasing population. Massive increase in women admission is also witnessed as ratio of female students at the campus is touching 50 percent. Moreover, two hostels and eight homes have been also converted in Girl’s residences keeping in view increasing rate of boarding female students. The University had also established women complex centre with hostels and other state-of the-art facilities for the students Newly-constructed five hostels at the UAF’s Post Graduate Agricultural Research Station (PARS) situated at Jhang Road have been set up for male students. Moreover, Kissan Hall is restored from BISE and now, around 200 male students are residing there.
