The Chinese Confucius Institute at UAF will provide a broader platform to further cement the ties of mutual cooperation in trade, energy and would enable the people of both countries come closer through language learning and knowing the culture of each other. This was said by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) while receiving a 5-member Chinese delegation headed by Prof Yang Zhijiang Associate Dean at Xinjiang Agricultural University, Urumqi, China and president of the Chinese Confucius Institute at UAF.

The Chinese Confucius Institute at University of Agriculture Faisalabad will provide a broader platform to further cement the ties of mutual cooperation in trade, energy and would enable the people of both countries come closer through language learning and knowing the culture of each other. This was said by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) while receiving a 5-member Chinese delegation headed by Prof Yang Zhijiang Associate Dean at Xinjiang Agricultural University, Urumqi, China and president of the Chinese Confucius Institute at UAF here in his chamber on Monday morning. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan urged the visiting delegation that his organization would like to have Chinese help in offering short course for technicians enabling the UAF technical staff to hone their skills and also provide the galvanized workforce to the market that will open new business and employment opportunities, he added. He said that the University will offer its staff and students opportunity to learn the Chinese language at Chinese Confucius Institute that will attract more people to join and bring more variety in the programs. He said the CIUAF can also provide an opportunity to learn from Chinese experience in making our Pharmacy Program stronger. He said the proposed CIUAF can also be a firm foundation in faculty and student exchange and bringing forth some joint research proposal for international funding. He vowed to extend unequivocal support of UAF to the Chinese Institute to run the show as they wanted to. Prof Yang Zhijiang said that setting up a Confucius Institute at UAF will built a strong connection between both countries and they would like to transform the Teaching Centre into a Chinese architecture to attract more people to come and see the Chinese culture at UAF. He said CIUAF would not only provide an opportunity to the Pakistani friends to learn Chinese Language but also to know about their food, music, culture and other interesting things about Chinese life, he added.
