Institute of Linguistics and Culture will be set up at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad

Institute of Linguistics and Culture will be set up at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in order to hone linguistics skills of students in the light of folk culture, enabling them play their effective role in agricultural sector compatible to the rural culture and traditions. . UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan addresses UAF Academic Council, meeting. Registrar Muhammad Hussain also seen on the stage. It was decided at the meeting of Academic Council, UAF that was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan on Thursday. Registrar Muhammad Hussain presented the agenda of meeting as the secretary of the council. The meeting also gave a nod to set up the Institute of Animal Sciences and Institute of Dairy Sciences at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry by merging three department including Livestock Management Department; Animal Breeding and Genetics Department ; and Poultry Sciences Department and Institute of Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology. It is meant to meet the international standards and to flourish dairy sector, getting immense importance. The meeting while giving relaxation for admission criteria of BSc Agriculture approved that the students of FSc ( pre-engineering) can also apply for the BSc (Agriculture) admission. Addressing on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that farming community must be persuaded about the modern trends and practices in agriculture. Keeping in view, the UAF has expedited its outreach programme. He said that polished linguistics skills of the students would also help achieve the desired goal. He urged the teaching community to turn all stones for the polishing the God-given abilities of the students. The teachers play an important role in this regard. He said that UAF was making all out efforts to train the manpower and address the issues of farming community. The agriculture is directly linked to the rural development and poverty alleviation.
