Seminar on Humanistic Education in 21st Century

Care for others, patience and tolerance are declining in the society which must be promoted in line with Quran and Sunnah, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He chaired the Seminar on Humanistic Education in 21st Century arranged by Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, UAF in collaboration with Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization. The Vice Chancellor said that humanistic education and character building as per injections of Islam are prerequisite to overcome the crises confronting the country. He said that we are weak in humanities than in research and education. He stressed the need to develop moral and social obligation in the youth as they are future builders. He said that Islam gives us complete guidelines in the every sphere of the life. He stressed the need to apply the teachings of Islam so that we can emerge an ideal state in the world. He also urged the participants to put a focus on their duties. Social scientist Dr Raja Masood Ashraf serving in US University of Taxes said that Muslims have the great philosopher, scholars and thinkers who transformed the society in line with the injections of Quran and Sunnah. He said if we practice only ten percent of the Islam, we can bring about great changes. He said that humanities and arts departments of US Universities are the largest departments enrolling a huge number of students are earnings a lion share of the resources. He said humanistic education enables the people become more critical and companionate and gives them reason to think for others and help them out. Faculty of Sciences Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Javed said that Pakistan is blessed with the talented youth. If we focus on characters building, there is no doubt that we will cultivate excellent results. ORIC Director Asif Ali said that Humanistic Education is the most important. He also urged the participants to spend their lives, according to the golden pearls of Islam. Chairman Naveed Irshad also spoke on the occasion. Miss Iqra Shugfta conducted the seminar.
