Meeting of The UAF Syndicate

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Syndicate okayed its Rs 3.901 billion for the financial year of 2014-15. The session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. Justice Yawar, Higher Education Commission Executive Director Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi, HEC Quality Assurance Adviser Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Additional Secy Agriculture Ahmad Ali, Additional Secy Livestock Khurshed Zaidi, Director Local Fund Audit Amir Saeed, Registrar Ch Muhammad Husain and other notables attended the meeting. Treasurer Muhammad Umer Saeed presented the budget. The House approved non-development budget worth Rs 2,811.677 million against the income Rs 2,535.061 with Rs 276.616 million deficit. Whereas, development budget is Rs 1,089.937 million. From federal government, development budget stands at Rs 289.937 million and from the provincial government, it is Rs 800 million. It is the highest funds from the Punjab government for the university as compared to past years. The Vice Chancellor said the Punjab Chief Minister initiatives worth Rs 800 million will equip the varsity with new facilities including modern 1000 bed hostels for girls, Bio Energy Research Institute and UAF Burewala sub campus. It will prove tangible in term of flourishing the sector. He also praised the Punjab Government’s another grant of 50 million dedicated for 50 foreign scholarships for the varsity.
