University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Academic Council has approved the different degree programs at its 292th meeting presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf. Registrar Umar Saeed Qadri presented the agenda.

The degree programs which are approved include BS( Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics at UAF Sub Campus Toba Tek Singh; BSc(Hons) Food Sciences and Technology Program at Burewala Sub-campus; BS ( Physic) and BS ( Botany) at Burewala Sub-campus; BS Poultry Science at UAF Main Campus; Mphil Mathematic at Main Campus and MSc(H) Food Technology . The other programs approved for Okara Sub-campus include MSc( Hons) Agronomy; MSc ( H) for Plant Breeding and Genetics; MSc ( plant Pathology) MSc(H) Horticulture; MSc (H) Soil Sciences; MSc ( Hons) Environmental Sciences; MSc (H) Agri Extension; Mphil in Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology. Addressing on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf said the university was adopting all parameters to find its place in the world acclaimed universities ranking including QS, Times and Shanghai. He said that to lower down the student-teacher ratio, new faculty would be recruited. He added that tangible measures were being made on the part of the university administration and faculty to ensure quality education and research work at par with the international standards. He urged the faculty to work to their entire capacity so that the fruitful research solutions could be provided to the farming community and industry. He also called for sharpening the skills of the students so that they can excel in their respective field. He said that knowledge-based economies are proving their mettle in the world. He called for working on the problems of a common man, society and industry to move the country to the new horizon of development and prosperity.
