Seminar on "Ensuring quality education and high literacy rate with skilled, qualified and dedicated teaching staff in order to emerge as a developed nation"

Speakers at a seminar called for ensuring quality education and high literacy rate with skilled, qualified and dedicated teaching staff in order to emerge as a developed nation. They pointed out that Pakistan has almost 6.5 million children that are out of school. They addressed a training session held for school teachers titled social barriers and their solution to the quality of education arranged by the Office of Senior Tutor, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). Addressing on occasion as chief guest, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that motivated and quality teachers were prerequisite to make the development and to catch up the modern world. He was of the view that education was the key to earn the respect and to deal with the different challenge facing the country effectively. He said that the Higher Education Commission has made quality assurance mechanism mandatory for institutions of higher learning. The mechanism must be tricked down to the schools. He said that the government was making sincere effort for education sector which will open up new horizon of progress. He said that the Government initiatives of enrolling 100 percent children at schools will bear the fruitful results. Writer and Qasim Ali Academy Principal Syed Qasim Ali Shah urged the people to purify their soul and to follow the injections of Islam. He stressed the need of character building among the school going children and youth. The good teachers sharpen the fate of the any nation as they are the people who give the right path to students. He stressed the need to illuminate their hearts with the love of Allah and the Holly Prophet Hazarat Muhammad (PBUH). Senior Tutor Prof Dr Aslam Pervez urged the government to increase the education budget. He said that Malaysia was emerging as the bigger economy, thanks to high literacy rate and investment on education. He urged the teachers to culminate their duties effectively so that the country can move to the new direction of progress. District Officer Secondary Education Riaz Ahmad stressed upon collaborated efforts to remove the hurdles to the education. He said that economic barriers, feudalism etc are the obstacle to increase the literacy rate. Laboratory School PARS Principal Saleem Mohsin said that the skills and values must be transferred among the children. He urged the media and civil society to play their effective role in this regard. Principal Chenab School Shazia also urged the teachers to play their due role in the refurbishing the God-given skills of the students. Prof Dr Tahir Siddiqui thanked the audience for attending the session.
