It is the need of hour to link up our youths with rich literature as no nation can be worthy of its existence which does not give weightage to its culture, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf.

He addressed the launching ceremony of new edition of Kisht-e-Nau, student magazine of the UAF. He said that in the modern era, book reading habit was declining in the youth and we have to make collected efforts to revive it. He said that university was making all possible measure efforts to promote book reading in the youth. He said that literature plays a vital role in the development of a person. He called for promoting the teaching of saint sufi based on loving humanity, strengthening the relations with Allah Subhanhotallah and ending prejudice from the society that will move the country towards development and prosperity. He urged the youth to devote their lives for the progress and prosperity of the country as per injections of Islam. He said that in 1940 at Minto Park Lahore, Muslims had presented a resolution to advance as a separate entity. He added that our elders articulated the true picture of freedom and liberty,” he said. He added the country was achieved after tremendous struggle and sacrifices under unprecedented freedom movement led by Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. Kisht-e-Nau Convener Dr Shahzad Basra said that character building forum are essential to polish their leadership qualities. He added that Kisht-e-Nau had produced the good writer, poets and speakers. Dr Waheed Ahmad said that during his students’ lives as medical student, he had contributed in Kisht-e-Nau. Hammad Niazi, Faisal Hashmi, Dr. Waheed Ahmad, Zulfiqar Adil and others notables also spoke on the occasion.
