Seminar on Tenure Track System

The investment in education sector and competitive teaching environment will enable the country to alleviate the menace of poverty and to address different challenges. It was stated by speakers at the seminar on Tenure Track System arranged at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while Higher Education Commission, Quality Assurance Division, Adviser Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan was the guest of honour. Dr Iftikhar Ahmad said the education is the only way to move the country to the new height of the progress. The teachers play a pivotal in role refurbishing the skills of the students. The quality teachers are guarantee of the bright nation. He said that competitive teaching environment “tenure track system” at the universities is the best choice for bringing the best brains and to create the atmosphere of competition in the teaching and research. He made it clear that the TTS system will remain intact. The HEC is making all possible measure to make it more strengthened at par with the international standards. He said efforts are afoot to flourish the system by devising a concrete mechanism of TTS faculty assessment and evaluation system based on disciplines. He said that committees had been set up for the said cause. Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the University believes that TTS will pave the way of prosperity as the system encourages the faculty to show their work as the matter of survival. He said that 142 teaching staff members are working in the university on TTS. He said it is prerequisite to ensure the quality education and to conduct valuable researchers to face up to the challenges of modern era. He said that all appointments of the teaching staff are being made on TTS for the last four years at the campus. Registrar Muhammad Hussain was also present on the stage.
