Bilingual Declamation contest at Lyallpur Literature and Art Festival arranged by UAF

Quality education and increased literacy rate are imperative to cope with the different challenges faced the country. This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing the Bilingual Declamation contest at Lyallpur Literature and Art Festival arranged by UAF. Addressing on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that the UAF was talking all measures to ensure the quality education at the campus by providing the latest facilities and latest teaching methods. He was of the view that festivity provides a platform to the students to exhibit their God-given qualities. He said that Pakistan was blessed with the talented youth who are the future builder of the country. He advised the students to set the goals in their chosen field that will help the country to make the progress. He said the the univeisty was committed to sharpening the skills of students not only in the classrooms but also outside the classrooms. The students should develop skills think out of the box to create their own world. Addressing on the occasion, renowned journalist Talat Hussain said that it is the matter of concerns that the current challenges had drove majority of the people to despair. He said that the country was blessed with talents and natural resources. We can create our own world with the hardworking, commitment to work and education. He said that the history guides us nations need 25 years to develop them against the all odds. The next 25 years are crucial. The youth have to prove their mettle by setting the path of the prosperity with the commitment and and light of education. He praised the efforts being made by the UAF. They also distributed the certificates among the winner of Bilingual Declamation contest. In the English speeches contest, Ruqia Shabbir from Punjab Medical College got the first position whereas Masood from University of Faisalabad stood second and Ahmad Ch. from the GC University Lahore got the third position. In Urdu Speeches contest, Yasir Latif from Punjab University bagged the first position, Umer Asghar from GC University Faisalabad and Ali Raza from University of Sargodha got the scond and third position. The festival brought colorful events including Book Fair, Qiraat and Naat Competition, Bilingual Declamation, Punjabi Takra, Quiz Competition, Mushaira & Bait Bazi Competition, Folk Songs Competition, Painting Competition, drama contests and many more. The Festival was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at Iqbal Auditorium. As many as 40 universities and colleges from four corners of the country are participating.
