The Punjab Food Authority and National Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFSAT), UAF inked a Memorandum of Understandings to work together for ensuring food safety

The Punjab Food Authority and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad’s National Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFSAT) on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understandings to work together for ensuring food safety with collaborative research, awareness programmes and revision of food laws etc. The MoU was inked by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Food Authority Director General Asad Islam Mani. According to the agreement, the NIFSAT will facilitate the food authority for analysis of samples; revision of food regulation, laws and guidelines in relating to the food production, labeling, etc. The NIFSAT will also provide the scientific advice and quality control of the products to the Authority. They will also conduct the survey related to the food safety and analysis of scientific data to food business to monitor manufacturing, storage, distribution and sale.
