Vice Chancellor Prof. Dro. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (S.I.) Addresses the Meeting of Tenure Track System (TTS) Teaching Staff

The secret of the progress of any country is in the quality education in which committed and skilled teachers play pivotal role, said the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He addressed the meeting of tenure track system (TTS) teaching staff. Registrar Muhammad Hussain was also present on the stage. He directed the UAF teaching community to turn all stones in order to horning the God-given skills of the students. He said that the teaching staff should develop opinion leader qualities to persuade farming community, other stakeholders and society regarding knowledge based techniques and solutions. Currently as many as around 193 teachers were working on the Tenure Track System, he said, adding that the system creates an atmosphere of competition and motivate the staff to think out of the box. He advised them to create the innovative thinking to prove their mettle and serve the humanity. He added that the country was facing many challenges. The population of the country was increasing whereas agricultural land is decreasing. He also stressed upon the scientists to enhance their role in addressing the issues facing the society with their outreach and research work especially for agriculture and rural development. He directed the teaching staff to make their lectures make available online so that the students can get the benefit from it. The University is actively working on the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). He added that the quality education was the key to development. We have to increase the literacy rate in the country.
