Oman has won International Tent Pegging Championship in which ten teams across the globe participated

Oman has won International Tent Pegging Championship in which ten teams across the globe participated. The six-day championship was arranged at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. In the concluding session, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Omani Military Attaché Ali Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Bulushi were chief guests on the occasion. Oman bagged the gold medal with score 113.5 whereas Pakistan stood second with 109 points and Australia got third position with 108 points. In the Tent Pegging, as many as international teams from Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Germany, India, South Africa. Oman, Yemen, and Pakistan took part. It is happening first time in Pakistan that ten countries participated in the Tent Pegging Championship. A large number of spectators watched the thrilling matches of Champion’s Trophy 2014. The six-day witnessed pegging by riders waving spears to pick the wooden peg amidst clouds of dust rising from the soft grounds as the horses dashed towards the target. The championship was aimed at presenting the soft image and strengthens the ties with the other countries.
