UAF has achieved another milestone that makes it 35th best university of the world in specialized higher education institutions
University of Agriculture Faisalabad has achieved another milestone that makes it 35th best university of the world in specialized higher education institutions. The announcement was made by the UI Green Matric World University Ranking adding that out of 301 participating institutions from 61 countries, University of Agriculture Faisalabad grabbed distinguished position by getting 5050 quality score computed from online information provided by the universities under six categories of setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste water, transportation, and education. These categories and their weightings are: Setting and Infrastructure (15%), Energy and Climate Change (21%), Waste management (18%), Water usage (10%), Transportation (18%), and Education (18%). The UI Green Metric World University Ranking is an initiative of Universitas Indonesia compares universities efforts towards campus sustainability and environment friendly university management. A grading system which includes information on sustainability at 300 universities exists under the title the United States Green Report Card. The aim of the ranking was to provide the result of online survey regarding the current condition and policies related to Green Campus and Sustainability in the Universities all over the world aiming at drawing the attention of university leaders and stakeholders, more attention will be given to combating global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation. Earlier, National Taiwan University (NTU) Ranking placed UAF in top 100 universities of the world and 20th among Asia Pacific in the subject of agricultural sciences. It is pertinent to mention here that in 2013, besides other achievements, QS World University Ranking had also ranked UAF in top 150 universities of the world. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while describing the green ranking, another shining feather in the cap during the last four years, congratulated the scientists, faculty, administrative heads, students and supporting staff and vowed to work hard not only to sustain the ranking but also to happen more advancements in its R&D activities.
