One Day Seminar on Emerging Technologies and Trends in Computer Sciences

Speakers at a seminar said that Pakistan can generate heavy revenue by tapping the international markets of information technology that will help alleviate the poverty and to raise the standards of life. They addressed one day seminar on emerging technologies and trends in computer sciences arranged by the Department of Computer Sciences , University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The inaugural session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He said that the world had become global village because of the technological advancements. He said that the Software House would be set up at the campus in order to provide opportunity to strudels to get practical knowledge. He said that the number of cell phone users in the country had gone very high that is an opportunity to spreading modern agri information among the farming community. The Information and Communication Technology plays a vital role in disseminating the modern agriculture knowledge in order to ensure the food security in the country. He said IT has greatly helped in good governance and to raise the living standard of the masses. Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Javed said that the IT facilitates the students as the knowledge ranging from science to arts was on the single click away. He said that there is a lot of talent in Pakistan that needs to be explored. He said that IT had made the office working so easy and transparent. He stressed the students to put their full attention on studies so that they would not only prove themselves in the field but also bring the good name for the country. Chairman Tasleem Mustafa said hat the seminar was aimed at providing a meeting point to the academia and industry to share experiences and to heighten the working for the promotion of the discipline.
