UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan inaugurates Student Facilitation Centre

A state-of-the-art Student Facilitation Centre (Fee Section) was inaugurated at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). The centre is meant to provide the modern facilities regarding fees to the UAF students with separate counters for male and female students. The centre setup under the Treasure Office was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan who was flanked by Treasure Umar Saeed, Registrar Muhammad Hussain, Controller Shafqat Iqbal, Dean Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Laeeq Akbar Lodhi, Dean Agri Engineering Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Dean Sciences Dr Muhammad Javaid and other high ranked officers of the Varsity. Addressing on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that the university was making all-out efforts to provide the modern facilities to the students. He said that around 16,000 students are studying at the campus. He added that the UAF had revamped academic, research and outreach programs and has introduced as many as 32 new degree programs in the recent years in order to produce demand-driven manpower. New academic disciplines have been added to narrow the knowledge gaps in energy sector, food industry, microbiology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, food and nutrition, climate change, pharmacy, IT sector, rural development and education. He added that the research focus has been shifted to solving problems while maintaining international standards. He said the varsity had devised a comprehensive mechanism to provide the financial assistance to deserving students to make education affordable for the disadvantages groups. Currently 26 percent of the students are getting financial assistance.
