CM Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Approves Setting Up 5.0 Megawatt Solid Waste Gasification Power Generation Plant At UAF

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved a summary of setting up 5.0 megawatt solid waste gasification power generation plant at UAF. The approval was made in a row of chief minister’s special assistance to University of Agriculture Faisalabad that would include provision of 50 overseas PhD scholarships in the first batch under Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) this year. The announcement was made by UAF VC Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) who was presiding over an extraordinary meeting of Deans’ Committee here at New Syndicate Hall on Tuesday afternoon. He apprised the committee that Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has vowed to personally visit the University before the mid of December to formally congratulate the faculty, administration and students on making it in the top 100 universities of the world in agricultural sciences by National Taiwan University Ranking. Referring towards his recent meeting with CM Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the VC told that CM was excited on such an excellent achievement made by the university academia and described the ranking a landmark achievement of inclusion among the top 100 universities of the world. The VC asked the Registrar to formulate the organizing committees to hold the forthcoming convocation during December as Governor Punjab has consented to grace the ceremony as chief guest. He stressed the need of applying power multiplying tools and modern gadgets to further strengthen the academic and research portfolio. He described the newly constructed lecture theater a dream come true that would enable the administration to ensure best utilization of teachers and technology to deliver the knowledge in more competitive manner. He asked the deans and directors to formulate various sections of the students so that he introductory courses could be taught in the lecture theater. He asked the Engineering and Construction Department to design two more lecture theaters adding that the UAF administration has signed an agreement with Higher Education Commission to increase its Internet MBPS Bandwidth to 311 MBPS to cope with the rising internet users on the campus. Later, the Deans’ Committee also visited the newly constructed lecture theater and described it an excellent addition in the academics.
