The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Community College based on American education system has formally started functioning

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Community College based on American education system has formally started functioning offering Intermediate (pre agriculture), distance learning post graduate programmes and Associate Degrees Programme . In this regard, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan on Tuesday visited the college and inspected the newly established lab, library and lecture theaters. He was flanked by Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof Dr Munir A Shiekh, Principal Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman, Registrar Ch Muhammad Hussain, Controller of Examination Shafqat Iqbal, Treasure Umer Saeed, PO PRP Prof Dr Jalal Arif and other senior management. He said that under the American education system, if a student does not succeed in getting admission to degree programs, he is given admission to associate programmes to refurbish their skills in their chosen field. He said the community college would be made a model for the other universities. He said that the pass-out FSc (pre agriculture) students can take admission to different first degree programmes including BSc Hons (Agriculture Sciences), Doctor of Veterinary Sciences (DVM), BSc Agri Engineering, BSc Food Engineering, BSc Energy System Engineering, BSc Animal Husbandry, BSc Food Science and technology, BSc Environmental Sciences, BSc Micro Biology and BSc Agri Economics. He said that under the distance learning Master programmes MSs/ MA Mathematics, Sociology, Economics, English, M.Com, M.Ed, and Education are being offered for which the process of admissions has started. He was of the view that the distance learning programmes will help the students to continue their studies who cannot take regular admission because of their jobs and other factors. The associate degree program includes Education; Farm Management; and Feed Technology. He also directed the staff members to take all out efforts to sharpen the God-given skills of the students with the use of modern teaching methods by providing them state-of-the-art facilities.
