Winning Team of Sports Gala 2013, the Faculty of Social Sciences UAF poses with Vice Chancellor UAF Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) was planning to suspend its Internet Services for two hours in the evening in order to attract youth towards sports and physical activities. This was stated by Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor UAF while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of Inter-Faculty Sports Gala 2013 organized by Directorate of Sports here on Tuesday at Sports Grounds of the University. He maintained that healthy body was essential for healthy mind and that is why University Administration was providing lot of resources for the promotion of Games at the Campus. Vice Chancellor urged the revival of lost glory in Hockey & other sports activities. He was of the view that UAF had introduced big names in hockey and other games. Dr. Khan asked the Directorate of Sports to provide Sports Gadgets, (Track Suits, Joggers & Unified Daily Diet) to Sportsmen in order to enhance their capabilities in Sports. He stressed the need for more emphasis on indigenous sports like Tug of War and Kabaddi in order to conserve our Folk cultural traditions. Chief Guest in the end distributed prizes among the students and winning faculties. He also watched final Kabaddi Match between Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Social Sciences in which Faculty of Social Sciences defeated the Faculty of Agriculture. According to the Final Results Social Sciences Faculty got overall 3rd Position with 19 points, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine stood 2nd with 36 points and Faculty of Agriculture grabbed 1st position with 73 points and clinched final Trophy of Sports Gala 2013.
