Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Dr. Manzoor H. Somru addresses 5th” young researcher’s skill development” workshop held at Old Senate Hall UAF

Speakers at 5th” young researcher’s skill development” stressed the need for development of Research culture in R&D institutions in order to guide students about pre requisites, methodologies and technical aspects in acquiring a research degree. The workshop was organized by The Agrarian Society, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, in collaboration with National academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Islamabad in old senate hall of UAF. Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan UAF Vice Chancellor chaired the inaugural session while Dr. Manzoor Hussain Somro, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) was the chief guest on this occasion. Other speakers were included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad Aulakh Director, Institute of Horticultural Sciences UAF. Rep. of NAYS, Aftab Ahmad and Ahsan Khan in his address Dr. Manzoor said that NAYS have been pursuing for the capacity enhancement through such workshops. He added that the students were trained in producing high quality research papers, poster presentation, effective communication and other methods of presenting their work in an effective way during this series of workshop for better chances of getting research grants and admissions in universities overseas. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan termed the workshop as a milestone in effectively training the student community about research and other related issues. He said that Pakistan is blessed with youth bulk which could be exploited for horizontal growth of scientific culture in the country. He urged the young scientists to come up with innovative solutions to the issues being faced by nation in current scenario. Dr. Muhammad Arshad thanked the guests and participants of the workshop.
