Syed Hidayat Rasool, a Religious Scholar while addresses “Yom-e-Hussain” ceremony organized by Qiraat & Naat Club office of the Senior Tutor UAF

Muslims and non-Muslims alike have acknowledged the role of Imam Husain who saved Islam from destruction by sacrificing his life. His sacrifice not only was revival of Islam but a significant step towards resistance against destruction of welfare state by “Yazidiat”. This was stated Syed Hidayat Rasool, a Religious Scholar while addressing “Yom-e-Hussain” ceremony organized by Qiraat & Naat Club office of the Senior Tutor University of Agriculture, Faisalabad at Iqbal Auditorium on Thursday. He said that although Yazid had been successful in winning over the allegiance of the great majority of Muslims, and the rest of the Muslim World was in a state of moral slumber. Syed Hidayat Rasool added that the Principles of Islam were being plundered and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet was being tampered with, and phony traditions were being concocted to justify the rule of Yazid at that time. He said that it was the singular sacrifice of Imam Husain and his faithful followers that shook the Islamic World out of its slumber. Syed Hidayat Rasool was of the view the Muslims were forced to ask themselves why the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet had been murdered so brutally. He added that it then dawned upon the people what the true nature of Yazid and his supporters was. He said that Imam Husain, by challenging Yazid and in the process laying down his life, changed the world and re-shaped human destiny forever. He maintained that Yazid, and indeed all future despots, were put on notice that they would not be tolerated, and that truth and justice would be upheld and would ultimately succeed, regardless of the costs. He stated that at Karbala, Imam Husain came to rebuild a system of life and gave a practical embodiment to the rational concept of justice. He stressed the need for vote casting mechanism to be restructured and adopted in accordance with the Philosophy of Martyrdom of Imam Hussain so that a true full of character leadership could be elected to ensure welfare state concept. Prof. Dr. Khalilur-Rehman, Chief Guest lauded the sacrifices of Imam Hussain and His Companion which would be remembered in the History. He urged the students to build their personality in the light of character of Imam Hussain. Dr. Aslam Pervez, Senior Tutor highlighted the role of his Office regarding promotion of co-curricular activities and said that students were achieving distinctions and honours for their University through this plate form. A Calligraphy Exhibition was also arranged in Art Gallery outside Auditorium by Art & Literary Forum and Quiz Competition held regarding Karbala incidence.
