UAF has out-shined around ten thousand universities of the Asia Pacific Region

University of Agriculture Faisalabad has out-shined around ten thousand universities of the Asia Pacific Region comprises 44 countries and clinched 33rd position on account of research ranking of scientific papers by National Taiwan University Ranking (NTU Ranking). Revealed by an email from NTU ranking team to UAF VC Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) congratulating the faculty, administration, and students adding that UAF has been ranked excellently in the 2012 performance ranking of scientific papers for world universities adding that the ranking is a stable and reliable for universities devoted to scientific research based on statistics of scientific papers which reflects three major performance criteria research productivity, research productivity, and research excellence. The Asia Pacific Region hosts around a half of the world’s population and accounts for a similar proportion of the global economy. It houses the world’s two biggest economies, the world’s largest military power and the world’s most populous nations. UAF earned 158th position out of around 17036 universities of the world with 14.96 quality points in the category of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences ahead of renowned universities and big giants of higher education in the world including University of Oxford with 14.88 points, Ataturk University (14.79), Columbia University (14.73), University of Michigan – Ann Arbor (14.72), University of Cambridge (14.57), University of California –Riverside (14.11), University of Zurich (14.09), Charles Sturt University (14.05), University of Colorado – Boulder (13.81), University of New England Australia (13.44), Ankara University Turkey ( 13.42), University of Hong Kong (12.39), Technical University of Berlin Germany (11.45), University of Amsterdam (10.22), The University of Manchester (10.07), and Punjab Agricultural University India (9.97) points. The quality points in ranking are based on research productivity (weighed 20%) - The number of published articles of the last 11 years (10%) and the number of research articles of the current year (10%), research impact (weighed 30%) - Number of citations of the last 11 years (10%), the number of citations of the last two years (10%), the average number of citations of the last 11 years (10%), and research excellence (weighed 40%) - The h-index of the last two years (20%), the number of highly-cited papers (15%), and the number of articles of the current year in high-impact journals (15%). UAF VC Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) described the distinguished achievement of NDU ranking fantastic outcome of dedicated staff of the University and hoped that the ranking will pave a long way in achieving new horizons of success.
