Inauguration of World Space Week activities and Agri. Exhibition, Fancy Birds Show, Scientific Model, and Water Rocket Competition

Various programs under University Rabi Festival, World Space Week Celebrations and Punjab Youth Festival are underway aiming at creating awareness about emerging space technology and its relation with human safety and security among the school students. At D-Ground, scientific model and poster competition was organized under senior tutor office. Judges inspected the exhibition and evaluated the work being placed in the exhibition. Students from more than 20 schools participated in a water rocket competition at University Hockey Ground. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan participated in the event as chief guest. He termed the promotion of space technology by celebrating of world space week a landmark event. Talking about SUPARCO initiative, Dr. Khan said space technology putting its effects on agriculture as information through remote sensing technology, global information system, and land surveying have great significance in the overall agricultural system of the country. Director SUPARCO Mr. Abdul Ghafoor, Chairman Dept. of Irrigation and Drainage Prof. Dr. Allah Bakhsh and Coordinator University Community College Prof. Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman also spoke on the occasion. Later, Cuban Rock Band Jazz presented a sizzling live performance at Iqbal Auditorium. On October 06, besides tent pegging, a bull race would also be organized at race course ground. Office of the Senor Tutor would hold 2nd round of quiz competition at old senate hall and at 8.00 pm a Qawali/Mehfil-e-Melad would also be held at Iqbal Auditorium.
