Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan Vice Chancellor , (UAF) addresses the Certificate distribution ceremony of 6-day training course on "Domestic Vegetable Cultivation"

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad will provide human resource to initiate short training courses at various Vocational Training Institutes located in rural areas of Punjab Province in collaboration with Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). This was stated by Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan Vice Chancellor , (UAF) while addressing the Certificate distribution ceremony of 6-day training course on “Domestic Vegetable Cultivation “ here on Tuesday. Dr. Iqrar said that purpose of this outreach activity is to develop the skill of rural youth in order to provide them entrepreneurial and employment opportunities at village level so that they could contribute in the process of poverty alleviation and rural development. He maintained that this the only way to make the country prosper through equipping 60 million youth with demand oriented vocational training courses. Dr. Khan added that UAF experts will provide training in the fields of Farm Machinery, Artificial insemination, Livestock Management, Tractor Repairing and maintenance, Laser Leveling & farm machinery operations, Interior decoration, Art & Crafts and Post-Harvest value Addition to the rural youth. He said that topers of Rural Vocational Training Institutes (VTI) would be given chance to get admission in UAF Community College to enhance their skills. Prof. Dr. M Aslam Parvez UAF Senior Tutor earlier said that UAF has been providing skill development opportunities to the students of VTI Panwan in the field of Tunnel Farming and four batches have completed their training and serving private sector on high pay packages. He vowed to equip the girls with hands on training of pickles, chatni and vegetable preservation through various short courses. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad Aulakh, Dr. Tahir Zahoor ED Endowment Fund Secretariat-UAF, Mr. Waqar Azim Regional Manager PVTC, Ashghar Ali Dogar Executive District Officer Nankana, Waheed Imran Principal VTI Punwan, Mr. Zohaib Shaukat Instructor Agriculture, Samra Javed, Muhammad Mohsin Mansha, Naveed Ahmad and other also spoke on the occasion.
