Principal Officer PRP, UAF Prof. Dr. M. Jalal Arif presides over a dengue awareness meeting

A dengue awareness committee constituted by Principal Punjab Medical College on the advice of Divisional Commissioner has intensified its efforts to aware and highlights the preventive measure among masses. A meeting in this regard has been organized at UAF to review the progress being made by the committee with Prof. Dr. M. Jalal Arif on the chair. The meeting revealed that an international dengue conference is going to be held at PMC Auditorium on September 24-25, 2012 with UAF as major partner of the event. The house urged the organizers of the Int. Dengue Conference to use the opportunity and prepare some pamphlets/handbills, ballpoints, writing pad by the committee to be distributed among the participants of the seminar what would certainly put impact and show casing the committee performance. Dr. Khuram Sohail Raja member of the committee appraised the house about the activities they are carrying in making the people aware about the dengue by organizing seminars in various institutes of the district. Matters relating to dengue awareness were came under discussion and the meeting emphasized to immediately prepare the data of banners, pamphlets, and handbills so that the same could be displayed at every prominent nock and corner of the district and distributed among the community as early as possible. Dr. Khuram Sohail Raja assured the house that he will prepare a précised data for the purpose. Dr. Muhammad Jalal Arif said that Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan is planning to hold a mega event on dengue awareness at Iqbal Auditorium of the University with overwhelming participation of the community, youth and other stakeholders. The committee opted Dr. Humaira Arshad, Asstt. Prof. PMC as member of the committee and while welcoming her, the committee asked her to make contacts in the female educational institution of the district to hold awareness seminars adding that after opting a female in the committee, targeting the females to discharge their social as well as domestic duties by keeping an eyes on such factors associated with dengue. The committee decided to upload the committee proceedings and activities with pictorial views on PMC, UAF and EMED websites. The committee emphasized to seek some patronage from industrial giants of the district for getting the banners, pamphlets, T-Shirts and handbills ready for displaying in the district. Deputy Director Public Relations Mr. Subhan Ali, Dr. Muhammad Anwar Sulaheri, Dr. Khuram Sohail Raja, Mr. Muhammad Hanif Chaudhry also participated in the meeting.
