A window phone android game development training session under Punjab Youth Festival 2012 jointly organized by Government of the Punjab and Microsoft Corporation was held at Video Conference Room, University of Agriculture Faisalabad to inculcate the young professionals to develop mobile phone games. The session was aiming at providing a platform to the professionals to come forward and display the splendid work of art, in the form of their own creativity. The core objectives of the session was to enlighten the developers’ community in Pakistan with the new technology on which they would to later compete in the game development competition in the festival expected to be in October 2012. Addressing the participants belonging to IT profession, Mr. Tasleem Mustafa Chairman Dept. of Computer Sciences, said that training session would enhance the vision regarding developing the computer games. He said Microsoft is arranging free session on windows game development in collaboration of Punjab Information Technology Board (PBIT) in order to facilitate the game/app development competition participants in category of windows phone/android. He said that new technology of the current era is windows phone, and in future the 95% technology will be shifted on mobile applications. He described the event a good initiative of the Punjab Government at proper time. Resource Person Mr. Shahid Aziz Technical Support, Microsoft Corporation in his keynote address, said Punjab Government as a strategic partner are adding value by delivering skills accelerator training in the domain of mobile application and game development. He apprised the participants that a young boy of Karachi had earned 60 million rupees after developing a one dollar worth video game and getting it registered at Microsoft Website which was downloaded by a majority of the people. He said an onsite training session for the game development competition have been organized at Arid Agri. Univ Rawalpindi, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, Punjab Univ. College of IT, and University of Engineering & Technology Lahore.
