Laptop Distribution Ceremony

As many as 4,735 under graduate and postgraduate students of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday got laptops on merit under Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme. The 3,236 male students and 1,499 female students from the university got the benefit from the scheme aimed at providing state-of-the-art facilities to the students in their path to gain knowledge and excel professionally. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while lauding the initiative of Punjab government said the country can be put on the road to progress and prosperity by equipping new generation with modern knowledge, The information technology plays a pivotal role to get the desired goal as every information from all disciplines including science, social sciences, arts, engineering, etc is on the one click. He urged the students to leave stone unturned to excel their inner abilities and skills in order to contribute to the development of the country. He said the education is the main engine that changes the fate of the society and gives the ways to the progress. It is the matter of the grave concern that only six percent of our population can avail the facility of higher education which was very low compared to other countries, he showed his concerns. The vice chancellor said that increase in the ratio of literate persons was the prerequisite for the bright future of our beloved homeland. The students are the beacon of hope to shoulder the responsibilities of elders in a bid to fight the challenges including poverty, food security, increasing population and others.
