UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan addresses Staff from BPS1 to BPS 16 at Iqbal Auditorium

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has recruited and regularized 1,000 employees and promoted 251 staff members in a span of four years for strengthening the institution with motivated manpower in order to produce quality researches and to generate knowledge in accordance with global standard. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing all B & C Staff from BPS1 to BPS 16 of the varsity at Iqbal Auditorium on Tuesday. Talking about new Initiatives for B and C staff, he said: “the university launches various capacity building courses in which staff should take admissions in order to polishing their skills. He said that wining of Islamic Development Bank Science and Technology Award by the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad among 56 countries is the success all employees, speaking the volume of their hard working. To cheer the event, he announced the honorarium of 1000 rupees for each member of B & C Staff in recognition of their services rendered for uplifting of the institution. He said Firdous Colony, a residential place for B and C employees, was constructed in 1962-63 with 110houses. Now in his tenure, 100 more houses are under construction keeping in view the needs of employees. He added the University’s run Laboratory School will start functioning soon at Firdous colony to provide state-of-the-art education to their children at their door step. He announced Laboratory Schools will provide the fee concession for the children of needy employees. He praised Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Sharif for giving the financial assistance of 350million to UAF in three years which was the biggest one from provincial government in the history of university. He lauded Chief Minister’s initiative of giving 300 foreign PhD scholarships worth Rs 3 billion for the UAF that was largest amount given to any university in the history of Pakistan. He also said separate residential colony for Christian is being set up to facilitate them in which a Church and community centre to be set up. He stressed the need to create the religious harmony and stay away from hurling hate on each other in order to spread the message of brotherhood across the globe. He said that Welfare Fund will be doubled to provide financial support for the staff in case of death, disease etc. He said that now the university was standing top educational institute in Q&S in the country, according to Higher Education Commission. Principal Officer Public Relations and Publication Prof Dr Jalal Arif said that the university was moving towards new horizon because of talented staff and dynamic leadership. He also urged the employees to more excel their skills. Registrar Muhammad Hussain thanked the audience.
