Senator Zulfikar Khan Khosa visits UAF

Senator Zulfikar Khan Khosa on Thursday said that University of Agriculture Faisalabad was playing significant role in human resource development with international collaborations in a bid to provide skilled manpower in the field agriculture and livestock that was considered backbone of our economy. He was talking to media at tent pegging ground UAF where he witnessed Horse and Cattle Show. He said that Punjab has a rich rural culture and norms that should be promoted in urban areas for giving awareness to the youth about our traditions and rituals as Information Technology had restricted them with the computer and television screens. He said that such festivities provide a platform to the farming community to interact with Industry and research institutions, Earlier, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the university had huge human resource in order to create awareness regarding dengue, that had taken the lives of many people in its last outbreak. He said that it was the only university which is making enrollment on district quota so that they are the better source to create awareness among the masses in an appropriate manner. On-going Spring Festival is in full swings in which a large number of people thronged on the fourth day. The job fair arranged by Career Development Centre was also opened while agricultural exhibition, flower show, fancy bird show, horse and cattle show, tent pegging, milk competition, cow and buffaloes beauty contest and cultural shows remained continue.
