Pakistan Academy of Sciences on account of meritorious and outstanding achievements in the field of Science and Technology (Biochemistry/ Biochemical Sciences) has decorated Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asghar Bajwa, Dean Faculty of Sciences with a Gold Medal and a certificate of appreciation. It is a marvelous achievement indeed.

UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal Randhawa, who is also PAS Gold Medalist, congratulated Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asghar Bajwa and hoped that he will continue to contribute in the knowledge economy with more vigor and enthusiasm by utilizing innovative approaches in the field of Biochemistry. Based on his meritorious academic achievements, Dr Bajwa was appointed as Professor on TTS in 2010 and Tenured Professor in 2014. He remained a member Sports Board for 2 years and member affiliation Committee for 2 years. Prof. Asgher has so far produced 156 research students as major supervisor, including 16 PhDs, 50 MPhil. and 90 MSc students. Dr. Asgher has won and executed 10 research projects as PI and Co-PI. He has published more than 200 research papers in journals of international repute including 134 papers in journals having impact factor with an Impact factor of over 200 and citations over 20000. He has also presented his work in 30 national and international conferences and as invited/keynote speaker at different forums. He has been working as reviewer of 51 Research Grants for different national and international funding agencies and 73research papers/reviews for international journals. He is the founder Managing Editor of Journal of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Biomaterials. Based on his outstanding performance in teaching and research he has been issued many letters of appreciation and awarded better incentives by the university during 2007 and 2008. He is all time recipient of Research Productivity Award (RPA)by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology. He has been /is member and Fellow of many national and international professional societies. Moreover, he has served as Chairman, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry for 3 years, as Member Syndicate for 3 years, as Member Finance & Planning for 3 years, Chairman/member of Unfair Means Committee for 6 years.
