The University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday took out a rally and arranged poster competitions to observe World Animal Day.

The rally was taken out by the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences (FVS) and concluded at the Admin Block . Talking to participants, FVS Dean Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi said that World Animal Day is aimed at creating awareness among people about protection and conservation of animal lives, and misuse for entertainment purposes. It is vital to acknowledge ecological importance of animals. In the poster competition, Amir Rashed a student of 9th semester in the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicines got the first position while Iqra Mumtaz from DVM 9th semester stood second and Ahmad Umar from DVM 7th semester stood third. The students presented the different ideas about a social movement with the mission of raising the status of animals to improve their welfare standards around the globe.
