The researchers should come up with tangible researches aimed at addressing problems of the society and people in order to attain development and prosperity, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Iqbal.

He addressed orientation of teaching assistants of M.Phil and PhDs arranged by the Directorate of Academics and Teaching Resource Center, University of Agriculture Faisalabad as chief guest. He added purposeful research must be carried out that will help alleviate poverty and deal with woes of common man. He said that researches remains piled up in the libraries that must be used for the welfare of country. He added that quality education would pave the way to compete with the rest of the world. He urged the students to express their views in a nice and mild way for the transformation of the society and that must not be misleading. He said that the country was blessed with talented youth so there was a need to sharpen their skills in order to fight with challenges of the modern era. He urged the students to leave no stone unturned to get the education and to become skilled manpower. He added that the university was providing state of the art facilities to the students. The country was achieved after the great sacrifices. Now it is our responsibility to move it to the new horizon of the development and prosperity. He said that all set to celebrate the September 6 Defence Day with the national zeal and enthusiasm at the university. He added that day will dawn with the recitation of Quran at 8:30 am at central mosque UAF after that special program will be arranged at 9:00 am at New Senate Hall to pay tribute to martyrs. He said that Shuhada Park of trees will be established at the campus to pay homage to the martyrs. Director Academics Dr Ghulam Murtaza said that as many as 120 teaching assistants were being provided orientation and the university is strving hard to ensure the modern teaching methods to meet the challenges of the modern era. He said that involvement of TAs helps increase the interaction between teachers and students. Endowment Fund Director Dr Muhammad Jaffar Jaskani said that training will improve their teaching skills to maintain class environment conductive for better training.
