The District Administration in collaboration with Education Authority opened a two-day Science Festival at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).

The District Administration in collaboration with Education Authority opened a two-day Science Festival at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). The festival was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, Mayor Municipal Corporation Faisalabad Razaq Malik, Chairman District Council Ch Zahid Nazir, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar, and Government College Women University Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi and CEO Education Rana Shabbir. In the festival as many as 200 schools, colleges and universities of the district are taking part. The University remained a hub of scientific exhibition, providing a platform to the students to exhibit their innovative ideas before a large number of people and flourishing a culture of scientific thinking among the students. Talking to participants, Salman Ghani said that there is a need to provide a platform to students to exhibit their scientific skills in order to showcase their God-given abilities before a large gathering. He said that the country was having tremendous talents. The provision of such platform will not only hone their skills but also help them to excel in the area of science and technology. He said that District Administration was taking all possible steps to increase the scientific culture for the benefit of society. UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that we cannot compete with the rest of the world without ensuring quality education and scientific advancement. He said that due to advancement in science and technology, the world has become global village. Your message etc can run over the world within no time. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of the district government for sharpening the scientific skills of the students. He said that in the modern era, only knowledge -based economy are proving their mettle. He stressed upon the need for strong academia-industry linkages. Razaq Malik urged the students to devote themselves for studies that will guarantee of a bright future. He said that the promotion of the scientific knowledge were the need of the hour. He said that such palrform will provide the opportunity to the students Zahid Nazir said that such activities will open up new avenue of the progress and prosperity. He added that if we want to make the development and the fight the challenges, we have to ensure the quality education with a special focus on the science.
