UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar inaugurated dive at the Day Care Centre UAF under the Health Department in collaboration with Rotary International. Rotary International Faisalabad President Prof Maqsood Akhtar and member national polio plus committee Mubashar Butt, Sara Pervez from Day Care Center, Principal Officer Public Relations and Publications Dr Jalal Arif, and other notables also attended. Under the campaign, in the district, as many as 1.35 million children would be administrated polio drops. Talking to people, Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that there was a need to create awareness and sensitize the people about polio so that the county can emerge as polio-free county. He urged the individuals to play their role in this regard. He added that it was a matter of grave concern that Pakistan was listed in the three countries which were having the cases of polio. He said that polio had played the havoc with many lives. He added that we have to take the extra measures for overcoming the polio. Prof Maqsood Akhtar said that Rotary International was running the campaign across the globe. He said that they had spent 13 billion dollar across the globe on the polio. He said that they had distributed one lakh gadgets among the polio teams. Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar along with others administrated the polio drops among the children at Day Care Centre UAF.
