Quality education, and adoption of modern teaching methods and skills in educational institutions will pave the way to make the development and to compete with the rest of the world. It was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar while addressing workshop titled “outcome based education and development of self-assessment report” arranged by Faculty of Agriculture Engineering and Technology, UAF. Dean Faculty of Agri Engineering Dr Allah Buksh, Dr Muhammad Arif Khan from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Engineer Abdul Mueed Iqbal from UET Lahore and Engineer Umar Javed also spoke on the occasion. Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that no nation can make the development without ensuring quality education, skilled manpower and research oriented solutions to the problems facing the mankind, industry and other stakeholders. He stressed upon the need to adopt the modern teaching techniques for a better teaching and learning. He viewed that even a century ago, one can’t even imagine the comforts of life we are enjoying now-a-days, due to science and technology. Now you voice ran through the sea within no time with telecommunication. You can enjoy off season fruits and vegetables, and the latest electricity tools have taken place in our houses and offices to beat the scorching heat engulfing the country almost all the year. Dr Allah Buksh said that effective commination skills were prerequisite to excel in any field. He stressed upon the need to horn commination skills of students so that the can exhibit themselves in a better way. He said that amid the challenge of the modern era, entrepreneurial skills must be developed in the students that will help alleviate the poverty. Dr Muhammad Arif Khan said that cognitive raises the mental skills of the students to understand and excel. He siad that teachers must work on the values and ethical aspect of the students so that they can become affective member of the society. He said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talent. There is a need to tap the potential. Abdul Mueed said that modern teaching skills must be practiced in the classrooms for a better learning system.
