The University of Agriculture Faisalabad arranged a two-day Orientation/Training workshop of Teaching Assistants.

The inaugural session was presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI). He said that the teaching assistants who are also PhD scholars are the future leaders. He said that system of teaching assistantship is to improve the quality of learning among PhD scholars and keeping in view the large student teacher ratio at UAF. He said that teaching assistantship was a huge responsibility to polish their teaching and communication skills. The university administration is ensuring to provide maximum facilities to teaching assistants and PhD scholars. Dr. Babar Shahbaz Director Academics and Teaching Resource Centre said that teaching assistantship for one semester is mandatory for all PhD students. TAs should take their responsibility in assisting the senior teachers. TAs have to prepare teaching material under the guidance of Faculty members. 40 Teaching Assistants attended the training workshop with observing proper SOPs for Covid-19. Dr. Aman Ullah Malik from Institute of Horticulture Sciences; Dr. Nisar Ahmed Director Quality Enhancement Cel; and Dr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan Associate Professor also interacted with the participants.
