The Institute of Horticulture Sciences (IHS), University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute China have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to develop research and academia ties in horticulture especially fruit trees, water melon and melon.

The Institute of Horticulture Sciences (IHS), University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute China have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to develop research and academia ties in horticulture especially fruit trees, water melon and melon. The MoU was duly inked by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar and ZFRI Director Cao Yongsheng whereas Director IHS Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Faculty of Sciences Dean Dr Asghar Bajwa, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dean Dr Muhamad Sajjad, External Linkages Director Dr Rasheed Ahmad, Dr Ashfaq Chatha, and other notables also attended. It was agreed upon that both institutions will exchange scientific information, academic, and research materials, and publications. The both institutions will also exchange research scholars. They will also carry out international seminars, workshops and conferences etc to get benefit from each other experiences. Talking to delegation, Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that Pak-China ties are deeper than sea and higher than mountains. He added that the UAF was running multiple academia and research programs with China. He said the university was housing Confucius Institute under which hundreds of students are imparted education about Chinese language, and cooking etc. He added that the mutual cooperation will bring the tangible research in the development of the horticulture
