Oath taking ceremony of Academic Staff Association (ASA), University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) was held at Iqbal Auditorium. UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar administrated the oath-taking ceremony. Dr Amer Jamil took oath as ASA President; Dr Haron Zaman as Vice President; Dr Aamer Maqsood as Secretary; Dr Sidra Altaf Joint Secretary; Muhammad Naveed Treasurer; whereas executive members included Shazia Riaz ; Dr Muhammad Tayyib; Dr Khurrum Ali; and Dr Saima Noreen. Whereas for Burewala sub campus, members who took oath include Dr Bijnyamin as Vice President; and Hafiz Haroon and Saba Nasir as councilors. For Depalpur-Okara UAF sub-campus, Dr Mazhar Ranjha as Vice President; Dr Tahir Muneer and Dr Tariq Mustafa as executive members . For UAF sub-campus Toba Tek Singh, Dr Khalid Bashir as Vice President; Dr Shahid ur Rehman and Umer Farooq as executive members took oath. Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar while congratulating new cabinet said that it is our prime responsibility to produce skilled manpower and conduct tangible researches to address the problems of the society, agriculture and industry. He stressed upon the association to come up with staff issues and solutions so that they would be addressed effectively. He said that the university was making all-out efforts to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the students and the staff. He assured the ASA of full support. He said that an idea can change the lives of the people. Quoting as example, he said that with the discovery of penicillin, many lives were saved. He said that with the invention of telecommunication, the world had turned to a global village where the information can be reached out to every corner of world within no time. Dr Amer Jamil said that with the hard work on the part of academia, administration and other staff, the UAF had emerged as the first ever institution of country ranked among top 100 universities worldwide. He said that the ASA will take up the matters to make the university more dynamic and to open up new avenue of the progress of the development and prosperity. He said that quality education and trained teaching staff is the guarantee of the bright future of the country. He said that country was blessed with the tremendous resources. There is a need to tap the potential . ASA former president Rana Amir; former ASA secretary Dr Khurrum Zia and other office ASA bearers attended the ceremony.
