Speakers at a seminar Clean and Green on Pakistan on Friday stressed upon the people to play their due role in the Green Pakistan as everyone should plant saplings in their localities.

The seminar was jointly arranged by Senior Tutor Office, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and District Government Faisalabad at New Senate Hall UAF. Chairing the session, Senior Tutor Dr Athar Javed said that climate changes were causing hazardous effects on the lives of the people. He urged the people for plantation in order to ensure the clean environment and green Pakistan. He said that Prime Minister Initiatives of Clean and Green Pakistan is a hallmark step that will not only provide the clean environment but also help cope with environmental issues. He said that the school, college and university students contributions in the campaign are essential in the noble cause . Forestry Department Chairman Dr Tahir Siddique said we have to beef up efforts to increase green net. He said that after adding up billions trees in the country, weather pattern would change altogether. He said that such event will pave the way to sensitize the public about the sensitive issue. Coordinator Clean and Green Pakistan Faisalabad Umer Awan said the government had kicked off a mobile application on Green and Clean Pakistan in which citizens are encouraged to enter their green and clean contributions for the noble cause. He said that all out efforts were being made at the district government level for green Faisalabad.
