The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has started online classes to facilitate the students at home enabling them continue their academic work without visiting the varsity. Thousands of students have been registered at the online classes.

According to data compiled by University Information Technology and Resources Center, as many as 6,500 students logged in first day. As many as 2818 courses files and assignments have been uploaded by 350 teachers. Under the Learning Management System (LSM) online courses, the students have opened the courses files and reading material accounting to one lakh and five thousand clicks. Whereas, in the online attendance management system, 109 teachers had uploaded 720 courses files under which students accessed 372 courses. Taking to the students in his online message at social media, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf has directed students and faculty members to ensure stay home and other precautionary measures issued by the Punjab Government regarding Corona Virus in order to safeguard their self, family members and other people lives. He said that all measures were being taken in the all countries and societies regarding corona. He said that timely decision of the government about lock down helped fight the crisis. He said that in the current century, the students can get their courses work, lectures and other reading material online at their homes that will not disrupt their academic activities. He said that that why, the university had commenced the online classes well in time. He said that to ensure the salaries, and pensions; essential staff of Registrar and Treasurer Offices, was rendering their services to facilitate the campus community. He said the essential staff of Public Relations and Publication Department, Estate Management Department, Engineering and Construction Department and Security Wing were available to facilitate the campus community and to inform about the situation. He said that online classes were being monitored by Directorate of Academics and Quality Enhancement Cell.
