The handholding of disadvantage class, love for humanity, and to work for their welfare will not only address their problems but also move the country towards development and prosperity.

It was discussed at the steering meeting of Akhuwat held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad with Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa in the Chair. Whereas, Akhuwat Steering committee Chairman Pervez Khalid, Regional Manager Khalid Gujjar, and other members included Khalid Shouq, Muazam Bin Zahoor, Dr Irfan, Abdul Jabbar and others attended the meeting. Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa also announced to donate his own inherited 7 acres of land situated near to Gojra to the Akhuwat Trust for the educational purposes that will raise educational level and bring prosperity in the area. He lauded the measures being taken on the part of Akhuwat that are hands holding of underprivileged people and giving them new rays of hope for the betterment in their lives. He said that poverty can be alleviated through education, and skilled manpower. He said Islam continually persuades us to help others and to work for the welfare and relief of the people. He said that 1400 years ago, brotherhood was established between migrants and Ansar-e-Madina by Last and Final Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ( PBUH). He said that Muslims of Medina embraced Muslim migrants with love and sincerity who settled down in Madina, leaving everything they had behind. Pervez Khalid said that Akhuwat Trust was established in 2001 with the objective of providing interest free microfinance to the poor so as to enhance their standard of living. Drawing on the principles of social justice and brotherhood, Akhuwat strives to alleviate poverty by creating a system based on mutual support in society. He said that there budget have crossed to Rs 75 billion. He said that Akhuwat University will be converted into a model one to impart education to underprivileged class. He said that Akhuwat was working on the different areas. Dr Khalid Shouq said that Akhuwat was taking all possible and revolutionary measures for the welfare of underprivileged class. He proposed to set up Akhuwat endowment fund for providing interest free loans and scholarship for UAF students.
