The agricultural scientists should make enhanced collaborated efforts, join hands, and come up with tangible solutions for the post flood situation in the agriculture sector

FAISALABAD September 17, 2022: The agricultural scientists should make enhanced collaborated efforts, join hands, and come up with tangible solutions for the post flood situation in the agriculture sector, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He was talking to colloquium for new inducted faculty for the capacity sharing with colleagues and UAF management. He said the UAF has enriched history as it was established in 1906 as the first agricultural institution in subcontinent on the recommendations of the famine commission in order to ensure food security. He said that the devastating flood catastrophe this year had wreaked havoc not only the lives of the people but also the agriculture sector. He said that the strong research work is a way forward to address the different challenges facing the country. He urged the faculty to inculcate the rich Islamic values among the students. He said that the compulsory Tutorial Group Meeting course is revamped for the character building of all graduating students. PMAS Arid Agriculture University Vice Chancellor Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman urged the agricultural scientist to work with dedication and collaborated efforts to ensure the food security in the country. He said that precision agriculture the new technologies borne of the information age with a mature agricultural industry. It is an integrated crop management system that attempts to match the kind and amount of inputs with the actual crop needs for small areas within a farm field.
