French delegation visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad

FAISALABAD September 27: French delegation led by Prof. Dr Richard Gattin visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and called on UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and discussed the areas of mutual concerns. The delegation came under the project entitled designing bio-based and biodegradable Packaging through Agriculture Waste VALorization- BIOPAWVAL funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan and the French Embassy, Islamabad, Pakistan and Campus France. The meeting discussed the opportunities for further collaboration including research collaboration, students and faculty exchanges, summer programs (short courses) and scholarships for students. Dean Faculty of Food Nutrition and Home Sciences Prof Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Director General National Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFSA) Dr Imran Pasha, Dr Aamir Shehzad and Dr Rana Muhammad Aadil and other notable also attended the meeting. The delegation also met with the Teaser Umer Saeed Qadri, Librarian Umer Farooq, Director Research Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir and others . Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the environmental degrading is posing a serious threat to the people. He said that biodegradable Packaging is a hallmark step. He hoped that the research work with French partner will bring the tangible results. He said that UAF was making all out efforts for the food security, poverty alleviation and rural development.
