National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council

December 07: National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council Vice Chairperson Dr. Fauzia Yusuf Hafeez has said that all efforts are being made to align agricultural education and research with international standards in order to achieve food security and agricultural development with the help of best manpower and research. She said this during a meeting with University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan and faculty members. Dean Animal Husbandry Dr. Qamar Bilal, Dean Food Sciences Dr. Masood Sadiq Butt, Dr. Shahbaz Talib Sahi, Dr. Imran Pasha, Dr. Zulfikar Ali, Dr. Babar Shehbaz, Dr. Muhammad Younis, Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Dr. Sohail Ahmed, Dr. Farrukh Saleem. Dr. Riaz Virk , Dr. Jalal Arif and others also attended the meeting. Dr. Fauzia said that UAF was playing its full role in the development of the country and honored of being first agricultural institute of the subcontinent. She said that the Higher Education Commission is taking revolutionary steps to prepare the curriculum as per international standards in the universities and equip the students with modern facilities to meet the challenges of the era. She said that the secret of development of nations is in skilled manpower. Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the teachers have to ensure the best environment for the students to exhibit and refurbish their God-given abilities. He said that all resources are being provided in the UAF to provide an environment equipped with modern facilities. --------------- ------------- FAISALABAD December 07: The 55th three-day national greyhound derby race has begun at the tent pegging ground of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in which 54 imported and 54 countrybred greyhounds are taking part. The race is organized by Directorate of Farms of UAF in collaboration with Gill Greyhound Kennel. UAF Vice Chancellor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that it has been the tradition of the University of Agriculture to organize various competitions to present rural culture. He said that recently UAF organized world level tent pegging in which more than 2200 horses participated. He said that the purpose of these competitions is to highlight the rural culture. Former Commissioner Faisalabad Asif Iqbal said that such competitions play an important role in introducing our new generation to rural culture. He congratulated UAF and Gill Greyhound Kennel for organizing the race. Director Farms Dr. Haroon Zaman Khan, Dr. Ashar Mehfoz, Dr. Ijaz Saleem and others also spoke on this occasion.
