FAISALABAD March 2, 2023: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) remained a center of attraction for the people who thronged the varsity to have a delight of spring festivity on the second day as it will last till March 8. A 12-member foreign delegate Assembly Members from California led by Chris Holden and Asif Mehmood; Secretary Agriculture Punjab Wasif Khurshid, Kathleen Gibilisco from US Consulate; UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Dr Nancy Allen from California, progressive farmer Fakhar Imam, Nestle CEO Yawar Ali, Agriculture University Multan Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ali, Cholistan Veterinary University Vice Chancellor Dr Sajjad Khan, Progressive farmer Afaq Tiwana, Progressive farmer Faisal, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Sarwar, Najma Afzal and other notable visited the activities. The second day started with the Gur Mela in which students set up their stalls of the cultural foods whereas buffaloes milking contest was and a seminar in contention in World Baffle Day was also arranged . The delegates visited the buffaloes milking and beauty contest, Gur mela and held a meeting with the scientists working under the Center for Advanced Studies UAF. Giving briefing, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the under the CAS, the university was working on the differ tangible research projects and new varieties of wheat, soybean, cotton and other crops that are about to mature with keeping climate changes in view. He said that UAF being the mother of all educational institutions have played a pivotal role for the agricultural uplift of the country. He said that the festival also provides a platform to the farming community, academia and industry to sit together for addressing the issue of the agriculture sector. He said that it would provide an opportunity to the students to exhibit their skills before the gathering. Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry Prof Dr Qamar Bilal said that the buffaloes contest was meant to promote the best milking breeds. He said that the animals across the country were brought in the contest./ On March 3 Greyhound, on March 5 Dog Show, tent pegging and on March 6, Lyallpur Literature festival, fancy bird show, and flower exhibition will begin.
