Buffaloes Milking contest

FAISALABAD March 3: The buffalo of 30.55 litres milk has won the crown of the buffaloes contest held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The contest is a part of the ongoing spring festival that will continue till March 8. The buffalo of Haji Ikram from Sidhupura got the second position with 30.06 liters of milk and another buffalo of Haji Ikram won the third position with 28.31 liters of milk. The milk competition is organized by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UAF in collaboration with Buffalo Association. University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, along with Nestle CEO Yawar Ali, Cholistan Veterinary University of Animal Sciences Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dean Dr Muhammad Qamar Bilal, Director Animal Sciences Dr. Muhammad Riaz Virk, Dr. Muhammad Younus, Chairman of Buffalo Association Atta Muhammad. , Muhammad Ashraf, Haji Saeed, Farrukh Ejaz, Basharat Jaspal, Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, Dr. Abdullah, Dr. Sabtain, Secretary Buffalo Association Samiullah and others visited the contests. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that although our per animal milk production is very low compared to the rest of the world. He said that the milk requirements of the growing population can be met by promoting the best breeds of buffaloes. He said that the university was committed to uplift the sector with the trained manpower, research work and outreach. Dr. Qamar Bilal said that every year, university organized milk competitions meant to increase the productivity by promoting the atmosphere of competition among the farmers.
