Water has become Pakistan’s number one development and governance issue. Water is an essential building block of life. It is more than just essential to quench thirst or protect health; water is vital for creating jobs and supporting economic, social, and human development. Water is an interprovincial issue.
It needs careful political approaches. All provinces are now entangled in subtle water wars. Only 36 per cent Pakistanis have access to safe drinking water and Pakistan is among top 10 countries with lowest access to clean water near home. Nearly 21 million people travel long distance to get water.
