The Governor Punjab/Chancellor University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) has appointed Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf as Vice Chancellor UAF for a period of four years.

Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, globally recognized botanist and well-acclaimed administrator, attained PhD from University of Liverpool UK in 1986 and Post-doctorate as Fulbright Scholar from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1994. He passed his MSc Botany with distinction from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. In recognition of his marvelous services for education and research, and for his extensive & productive cooperation in the scientific community, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, has been awarded over 20 different awards including 3 presidential awards i.e. Izaz e Fazeelat, Pride of Performance and later Sitara-i-Imtiaz. Dr. Ashraf has produced as many as 24 PhDs, l . He has published over 300 research papers, most of them in foreign journals. He also has written 13 chapters in different foreign books. Before his appointment as UAF Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf served as Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation and before that, he also worked as Vice Chancellor Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan. He has also given his services as Dean and Professor Faculty of Sciences University of Agriculture Faisalabad. His appointment as Vice Chancellor here at UAF is not only another well-deserved accolade for him but is also a jubilant triumph for the campus community.
