The Finance and Planning Committee, University of Agriculture Faisalabad approved the budget estimates worth Rs 8,879.586 million for the financial year 2019-20.

The meeting was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf while Treasurer Tariq Saeed presented the agenda. Registrar Muhammad Hussain, Additional Secretary (Planning) Agriculture Department, Government of Punjab Naeem Khalid, Director Local Fund Audit Department Ijaz Sindhu, Executive Director Endowment Fund Dr Mahmood Ahmad Randhawa, UAF Director Planning and Development Dr Irfan Abbbas, Dr Amer Jamil, Dr Nuzhat Huma, Dr Abdul Wahid and other notables also attended the meeting. The meeting okayed the non-development budget estimates worth Rs 4,878.586 million, non-development budget Rs 119.67 million, Water Management Research Center budget of Rs 44.29 million whereas development budget (federal government funded) Rs 594.08 million, development budget (Punjab government funded) of Rs 410.622 million and the competitive research grant of Rs 2,832.32 million. Addressing on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that the efforts are afoot to make university among the top 500 universities of the globe. He said that the university was mulling a comprehensive plan to increase income from its own resources with the help of commercialized products in agricultural and food sector. He said that Endowment Fund’s investment will be strengthen to carry out tangible research projects and commercialization based on innovative ideas.
