A 10-member student contingent dispatched to China for PhD degree programs to join Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University (FAFU).

A sending-off ceremony was held at meeting room of the VC office was where Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad Director External Linkages introduced the students with Vice Chancellor Prof .Dr. Muhammad Ashraf (H.I., S.I.). While congratulating the outgoing students to FAFU, Dr. Ashraf stressed to work hard and prove their metal in their respective domain. He said that China is marching towards progress and development and manufacturing almost everything as per requirement of the buyers so we need to learn many things from China. He asked Director External Linkages to put up the future line of action regarding FAFU Scholarships in academic council so that it may get nod of the statutory body thereby to proceed the scholarship program on merit and ensure transparency. The selected 10-student are graduates of plant protection, crop science, life science, horticultural sciences. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf while planting tree at the Faculty of Animal Sciences, UAF. He said that everyone should plant a sapling for breathing. This is a way forward a save the coming generation from the hazardous effects of changing climate. He said that the government was making conscious efforts for the said cause. He said that the university had planted 5000 sapling in the last two months. He said Prime Minister’s Initiatives of Clean and Green Pakistan is a hallmark step to address the issue of environmental issues and to provide a clean environment for the people. He said the issue of climate change was aggravating due to increasing pollution, and smoke emitting from the chunk of factories and vehicles. He said that enhanced plantation and green net will help address the issue at the national level. He urged the youth and University community to collectively plant trees for the benefit of green cover. He said that environmental degradation was posing a serious threat to life.
